Highland Council continues to work with consulting engineers, Aecom, to find an affordable solution for the refurbishment of the Coghill Footbridge, Wick. New information on ground conditions, received in December 2016, has resulted in design changes and impacted significantly upon construction cost estimates, now in excess of the capital budget of £505,000 available to the project. Over Half a Million quid for repairs / reconstruction of a footbridge, utilising most of the original structural components & installing a new Southern section bridge that anyone could practicall jump over? Somebody's having a laugh, as usual, at the expense of the local tax payers... It's a bloody farce.

no doubt the Council EXPERTS have spoken ,it'll be twice the price before its finished . If ever .
Council states, Governance policy says "all actions should be transparent and open to question". YES it says SHOULD best of luck .
