or does anyone else find the "back to top" link both annoying and redundant?

Scroll bars and wheels make moving up and down a "page" very easy, and if you really really can't be bothered scrolling, then the home button on the keyboard works very well.

What I find exceptionally annoying is that it introduces horizontal scroll bars even when not required, and hides some text at the bottom right corner of the screen.

In that case you may not know that the "end" key takes you to the end of the document...

They work in most applications too (should be all, but you just never know...)

Or the end of a line. Also, holding down control whilst using the cursor keys jumps from one word to another. ;)
