Poured drink over customer and threw the glass away

A THURSO woman, who threw a drink over another patron in a local bar and then tossed the glass away, has been ordered to carry out unpaid work in the community.
Jenna Johnson, 24, admitted an amended charge of breach of the peace when she appeared at Wick Sheriff Court today.
The court was told that the incident followed an argument with another female patron in Mr C's bar around midnight on February 5.
Fiscal Fraser Matheson said that, fortunately, the airborne glass didn't hit anyone. It bounced off the bar counter onto the work surface behind. Another patron intervened and Johnson, of 4 Bower Court, Thurso, struggled with her, before being ejected from the premises.
Solicitor Fiona MacDonald claimed that the woman involved in the argument had earlier poured a drink over Johnson and the accused had subsequently retaliated in the same manner.
Miss MacDonald added that, despite the incident, all the parties involved, had remained on friendly terms and Johnson was still welcome at the bar.
Sheriff Andrew Berry said that for that reason, he would refrain from banning Johnson from the bar but made a community- based order of 63 hours.
