Fiscal's manageress calls it a day after 14 years
A TRIBUTE was paid at the weekend to the Wick fiscal's office manageress, Fiona Banks,retiring after 14 years service. .
Speaking at the sheriff court, Sheriff Andrew Berry said there were two people without whom the court system would "fall apart" - the sheriff clerk Jan McEwan and Mrs Banks and all their liaison with social work and the police.
The sheriff said: "We are going to miss Mrs Banks at a personal level and it goes, without saying, in terms of her imput into the system. We wish her the best of health and a long and happy retirement."
The tribute was followed by a presentation ceremony at the close of criminal business.
