COMMUNITY representatives are up in arms over a design flaw in a public swimming pool being built within the new Wick High School. They are called for answers after learning there will be restricted viewing from the tiered seating area. One called for "heads to roll" while the town's swim club want the problem rectified, describing the current layout "a bit of an embarrassment".
THE achievements of deserving local voluntary groups were recognised at a celebration reception held in Wick's Laurandy Day centre. Local Highland council Gillian Coghill made the presentations at the event which saw the awarding of the Jean Macdonald Cup, donated three years ago upon Jean's retirement.

Deidre Aitken manager of Hearing and Sight Care and Alex Patience the library 's Scottish Book Trust's reading champion have been working together to bring the piece of equipment to the area which could make a huge difference to people's lives.
SHIRLEY Buchanan believes that she is one of the women in the UK who do not develop cervical cancer each year because they take part in cervical screening. The 44-year-old who works at Cantraybridge college near Croy, has regularly attended cervical screening which aims to pick up changes in the cervix and treat them before they develop into cancer.
