A TERMINALLY ill Caithness woman had her dying wish fulfilled yesterday when she married her partner at a special ceremony at the Town and County Hospital in Wick. Sylvia Stubbings and Terry Vine's wedding was an emotional occasion for them, family staff and patients and there were tears amid the joy during the service.
ENVIRONMENTAL improvements costing £110,000 at Dunnet Bay and Dunnet Head are set to start next week. A contract for the work was awarded by Highland Council as part of a project which included a controversial plan to site the sculptures at both locations.

Detectives found no suspicious circumstances after Stefan Sutherland's body was discovered on the shoreline near his home at Occumster, north of Lybster.

Figures released by Highlands and Islands Airport Ltd revealed passengers numbers dropped from 32,688 in 2014 to 32,381 a decrease of 0.9 per cent.
PARENTS are unhappy that road safety measures at the new Noss school remain outstanding, less than two months before the primary is due to open. Hillhead school's parent council fear pupils on foot could be put at risk if the work is not done before Noss opens its doors on Monday April 11 when it is due to replace the existing Hillhead and North schools.
TRAFFIC wardens are to return to Caithness after Highland councillors agreed to establish a new enforcement team to replace illegal parking. The community services committee gave the go-ahead to reintroduce wardens across the Highlands following the withdrawal of the service by Police Scotland.
