dont think that labour have done all they could for Britain and Scotland,

The name of the party is New Labour The old labour party were socialists by and large who in the main stood up for working people as far as they could ...
A complete contrast to what is in power in Westminster today I may be old fashioned but I prefer prime ministers NOT being questioned by the Met Police over the sleaze that is Cash for Honours...I prefer prime ministers who sceneario 1 showed very bad judgement over the Weapons of Mass Destruction affair in Iraq or in scenario 2 told bare faced lies about it I prefer prime ministers not spending most of his time acting as foriegn minister to the USA

As for Gordon Brown pensions green taxes spin on tax cuts etc etc etc

And who said I was waiting for the SNP????

PM, we know your anti Labour, and are a knowledgeable man, because you keep telling us so! [lol]
So nail your colours to the mast and show us who you will be voting for:eek: and maybe we will follow you, just maybe.

Labour are getting to the point of being effectively dead in the water; I was listening to Radio 4 earlier on and it was even being suggested (pause for deep breath) that Blair's seat in Sedgefield could be under a certain amount of threat. Now that would be a turn up for the books.

And were I in North Queensferry I'd cheerfully vote SNP if it would deselect the pension-robbing, gold-selling-at-market-bottom, nail-gnawing, unelected Prime Ministerial successor who represents the place.

I'm always fascinated by reference to "working people" or even the "working classes" - whether by old labour, new socialists or what's the new, Solidarity or something? Anyway. What do they mean by working people. The Queen has probably worked more hours in her lifetime than most but is she included in this group? Doubt it somehow. Many chief execs., who granted are probably overpaid, work far longer hours than most of their employees but - are they what old labour call working class? Sorry, know that's going off thread a bit.

As for new labour, for those at the top I would think new aristocracy would be a better description. After all they're rich, they live in big houses, they have masses of staff at their beck and call. Probably more than most of the old aristocracy have these days. Why else has Blair spent so much time cosying up to Bush - he's looking forward to a lucrative retirement in the US.

When have said I was knowledgeable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you want knowledge I suggest you fly North to the land of Jabberwok!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gollach Im am not anti Labour Im anti new Labour When they deselected people like Dennis Canavan I ceased to have anything in common with them
They are as Badger ably described in his post
Labour was the party of Nye Bevan, Hugh Gaitskill, John Smith a mixture of all types but were at least honest who did not "reannounce" or spin or pander to the likes of Rupert Murdoch

Thanks again Badger for putting my thoughts in words (better than I could have!!!)
