"Utter nonsense" said sheriff who demands complete co-operation or else!...
A SHERIFF dismissed a Wick man's excuse for breaching a community payback order describing it as "utter nonsense".
Sheriff Andrew Berry took issue with solicitor Fiona MacDonald who put the breach down to "a misunderstanding" on the part of her client, Richard Davidson appearing from custody at Wick.
The sheriff, who saw a background report, told Davidson, who admitted breaching the 150 hours unpaid work order: "You went on a drinking binge and stopped co-operating with social workers".
Sheriff Berry said he would allow the order, imposed with a supervision clause: " You will comply in every way with this order. Do you understand."
Davidson, of 25 Hill Avenue, Wick, replied: "Yes".
The sheriff said he would review the accused's progress in a month's time and warned him: "If you have not complied with the order in its entirety, you will find yourself in custody."
The order was imposed for a domestic offence on January 10th in which Davidson behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting at his partner, Eilidh McIntosh, at their home.
