Is it not about time that the local whoevers purchase/beg/borrow a field and have it prepared drained gravelled as the Caithness county showground. other countys manage it.

This is one of the smallest Highland Games in SCOTLAND and everyone works hard to support our armed forces and of course the Erskine Hospital
The fields for the games and car parking are part of the estate that the QUEEN MOTHER left in trust for the people of CAITHNESS and are part of a working farm that contributes to that estate
Mr Macarthy at Longro farm would have made every effort to have the fields ready for the day but unfortunatlely has no control over the weather
Every effort was made to find an alternative but owing to licencing requirements, council approvement different drawing plans and health and safety checks
it had to be cancelled
The decision was not made lightly and everyone on the committee who attended on the night was in total agreement
