If you are looking for food and accomodation somewhere near Edinburgh, try The Hideaway www.thehideawayinn.co.uk It's ideally suited for Edinburgh as is only 2 mins from the M90, and about 20 mins from the airport.

I stayed there on Easter Sunday was £50 for a room with continental breakfast. All the breakfast stuff was left in a fridge and on a table outside the bedrooms, so you could get your food any time (was handy as had to drop the other half off for an early flight at Edinburgh Airport)

And the food in the pub/resteraunt is excellant, £12.90 for a 3 course Sunday Dinner. Was pub grub prices for food that is definatley quality quisine. I had chicken breast on a bed of haggis with a whisky sauce, and the other half had steak and ale pie. We haven't enjoyed food this good for ages.

One of the chefs is from Caithness originally (that is how I found out about it), so if I were you, I'd go there to support a local lad.
