Unpaid worker was under the influence sheriff court hears
A COURT heard that teenager was too drunk when he turned up to do a stint of unpaid community service.
Eddie Macgregor, 19, had to be taken home by his mother, Wick Sheriff Court was told, yesterday.
Not long after that, Macgregor ran into more trouble after being arrested in Thurso, on an unrelated matter.
He shouted at police officers driving him to Wick police station, on Wednesday, and threatened self-harm. Macgregor admitted threatening or abusive behaviour and a record.
Sheriff Andrew Berry continued that case until June 24, to allow Macgregor, of 12 Heatherbell Cottages, John O' Groats, to finish the balance of his community service, amounting to seven days.
The sheriff added that he had only just been persuaded to grant the accused bail and stressed that he expected to hear nothing but full co-operation when he reappears for sentence on June 24.
