Wife needed hospital treatment for cut to eye
A WOMAN required treatment in hospital after her husband threw a plate at her, Wick Sheriff Court heard today.
John Goodbrand, 58, appeared from custody and admitted a charge of culpable and reckless conduct and a record. He will be sentenced next month.
The couple reside at separate addresses and were at the accused's home at 11a Ormlie Road, Thurso, when the incident occured.
It was triggered by a comment made to Goodbrand by his wife, Janet, who sustained a cut of almost three inches above her right eye.
Goodbrand was granted conditional bail and will return to court on June 24 when Sheriff Andrew Berry will see a background report.
