Facing trial on a charge of grabbing a man by the throat

A COURT has imposed a street ban on a Wick man pending his trial for an alleged assault..
Michael Nicolson, 40, is alleged to have forced his way into a hous in Murchison Street, Wick, on Monday and grabbed John Farmer by his throat.
The incident is said to have taken place on Monday. Nicolson, of 146 Willowbank, Wick.
Nicolson, pleaded not guilty, when he appeared from custody at Wick Sheriff Court, today and was granted conditional bail with conditions. He will return to court for his trial, on June 25 and in addition to staying out of Murchison Street, gave an undertaking not to try to contact Mr Farmer.
In a separate case, Angela Campbell, 47, denied charges of theft and being drunk and incapable, when she appeared from custody.
She is accused of stealing a quantiy of foodstuffs from the Co-op in Wick on March 27.
The drinks offence is alleged to have taken place on Sunday, in Sinclair Street, Halkirk, and is also denied by the accused.
Campbell, of 21 Aultwick, in Sinclair Street, was granted bail and will stand trial on June 11.
