Scotland Semi Professional Squad Announced 1-May-2005 - from www.highlandleague.net website

Fourteen out of the eighteen players chosen to represent Scotland in this season's Four Nations tournament come form the Highland Football League with no fewer than nine new caps in the squad.

The good news is that Wick's Martin Gunn, Buckie's John Coutts and Kevin Souter, Cove's Martin Johnston, Vale's Robbie Brown, Keith's Kris Niddrie, Locos' Neil McLean, Clach's Ally Ridgers and Broch's Neil Main will all make their first appearance in the tournament.

However there were a number of shocks with Bryan Dlugonski, Ian Murray, Andy Shearer and Gary McGowan all dropping out of the squad from last year and that has been mirrored in the East with a few eyebrows being raised at the omission of John McGowan, Phil Hobbins and arguably the East's man of the match in the trial game Donal Henretty.

The Scotland Semi Professional squad as chosen by Jim Fleeting reads:

Scott Anderson Huntly
Robbie Brown Deveronvale
John Coutts Buckie Thistle
Dan Gerrard Edinburgh University
Martin Gunn Wick Academy
