Have you tried registering with homeswapper websites and house exchange ones ? That's what we did and got a match quite quickly. You will have to get permission from your housing authority to do this though.

I did co e across a home swap website but it said you had to register and pay so much money to join so wasn't sure if it was a con or not, but will have a look on them and see about joining them. Thanks

We never paid anything to join, I think it was homeswappers.co.uk, but I will check that. You can also put your details on a board in the council offices in Rotterdam St in Thurso.

Have a look at this website - http://www.houseexchange.org.uk/ this is the one we joined. If you look on the right hand side of the page it has a section "do I have to pay" read that first, and then you can decide whether to join it. Hope you get your move soon.
