Twenty-four-years ago, I reported to my GP that I had tinnitus and deafness in my right ear and numbness of the right side of my head. She said; ''You had better see a psychiatrist''

I went to see the psychiatrist and he said; ''We will have to bring you in for treatment if it gets worse''

It got worse so I registered with a different GP and told him my symptoms. He said; ''You need an MRI scan quick''

They found a tumour growing in my inner-ear on the right side and called it an acoustic neuroma.

On 20th December 1995, the NHS expertly removed my acoustic neuroma during twelve hours of neurosurgey and the cost had been £27,000. I am still deaf on the right side but alive due to a change of GP that lead to a proper diagnosis.

For twenty-four-years, I have wondered how a mental health clinic would have treated my illness if I have been brought in.

Sounds to me like you needed both treatments.
