I have used Google Earth quite a lot to look around Wick and see so many derelict or ruined buildings. Why are they not renovated? Apart from that, your little town seems to be a very nice place where everybody is happy.

The cost to renovate these old cottages to modern day specifications is beyond the reach of most people...you could build 2 new properties for the same money...you have to do it for the love of it...

200% council tax on properties that are unoccupied doesn't help either regardless if they not liveable, council says well do them up and rent or sell so people being forced to bulldoze or make them derelict

There's a new local TRust started and they are looking into taking over old used properties and bring them back into use .
