Charges include attempting to bite the officer
A THURSO man has been accused of threatening or abusive behaviour and assault.
John Lamont, 48, pleaded not guilty when he appeared from custody at Wick Sheriff Court, today.
Lamont, of 60 Rose Street, Thurso, is alleged to have shouted and sworn at Alan Sinclair, at the town's Grove Lounge, on Thursday, challenged him to fight, brandished a glass and kicked a door.
Lamont is further accused of threatening violence to police constable Lewis Brown, at 60 Rose Street and attempting to bite him and faces an additional charge of being in possesion of an offensive weapon, namely a metal bar.
The accused was granted bail with conditions that he doesn't contact Mr Sinclair or enter the Grove Lounge and will return to court for his trial on February 5.
