A bit mean?

An unemployed disabled man who won 20000 pounds not only loses his means tested benefits but apparently is restricted by the Government in how he can spend his winnings. Does anyone else think that the Government are being a bit mean in restricting him to what they deem as 'reasonable expenditure'?

Would you be so indignant if it had been someone on JSA (aka The Dole) winning £20,000 & losing their benefits?

He only has to go through £4,000 before recieving benefits again, someone on JSA would need to go through £14,000 before being eligible once again.

The moral of the story is get someone else that you trust who is not on benefits to claim the prize for you.

Which should they be- mean or generous?

Is a benefit meant to help people who need it, or is it a wage for doing nothing?

it is a benefit for people who can not work but is a wage for lot of wasters who have never worked in there life and never will
