Like a lot of people, I am quite partial to a nice Steak & Ale Pie. Well I have tried a wide variety of bottled Ales which produce wonderful gravy indeed. But for my last couple of pies I have used a Velvety Chocolate Stout called TALORCAN from the Deeside Brewery, and the gravy is absolutely fantastic.
The Deeside Brewery is owned by someone originally from Caithness, so can we say that it has an element of being local, and as far as I am aware the only shop/store in Caithness that stocks TALORCAN is J.A. Mackay Family Grocers in Thurso. This is certainly one to try, without a doubt
