Man accused of assault and threatening to kill partner
A THURSO man has been accused of assaulting his former partner and threatening to kill her.
James Beresford, 26, denied the charges when he appeared from custody at Wick Sheriff Court yesterday. These allege that he repeatedly grabbed his former partner, Toni MacAlpine by the neck, affecting her breathing, and behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting and swearing at her, threatening to kill her and seizing her mobiles phones.
The incidents are said to have occurred at Ms MacAlpine's home in Thurso, on Saturday.
Beresford, of 88 Ironside Place, Thurso, was granted conditional bail and will return to court for his trial on November 13.
