Very recently I have been told off, on these hallowed pages, for using this forum as a discussion area. I was directed to the lonely hearts column of the P & J as a place to find someone to socialise with.

Am I wrong to think that the forum is indeed for talking about things, for asking for and giving advice etc?

Is the classified area not just an 'add-on' feature to give a rounded feel to the Org?

My 'teller-offer' seems to think the Org is just for buying and selling, who is wrong, who is right, both, neither???

I do want to know what you think. I can't be buying the information though, I'm sure that would be some sort of infraction.

What? As long as you are within the rules isn't the org there for what you want to get out of it? Sometimes it's for selling stuff, sometimes it's for sharing birthdays, sometimes it's for finding out stuff, sometimes it's for making connections for family history and sometimes it's for making friends. I have met and made friends with lots of people over the years I have posted here, even some with whom I disagree (you know who you are grumpy lol). It's up to you .

Totally agree with Squidge (now theres a change) :) I too have met and made many friends through the Org when it had a chatroom, the Sunday night quizzes were hilarious, p.s. it was not Squidge who made me grumpy[lol]

I have not been posting here for long, but have been reading the org website and forum for about ten years. I think it is a really good site and have found it useful and informative.I think caithness .org forum is for many things, including lonely hearts if you wish. Those who say it is not are wrong.I joined the org forum to express my views on the referendum, as I had noticed those who shared my opinion of staying in the UK, were being picked off like flies ( banned ) one at a time. Maybe I'll be next, but atleast I can join some of them on the other side

I thought that one of the main things that the Org was for, was to keep the Members informed about the Opening and Closing Times of Tesco.

susie I would have thought that the forum was for discussing all things Caithness or indeed asking about any subject you want others opinion on. What it is not for is getting embroiled in naming and shaming and personal attacks on other org members.

No one told me it had a lonely hearts section, I'd have been posting in it on a regular basis! :-)

Any ladies aged between 38-52, slim, attractive and lonely, PM me :-)

That's the perception, the reality is she is scared to meet me! I've offered to meet her in both Glasgow and London, she's yet to take me up on it.
