Stripping woodchip or plastering over woodchip

I have started stripping woodchip paper in my sons room, but finding very little time to get to it, and needing it done asap.

Some has recommended that is can be plastered over? Anyone tried this before or got any recommendations? Or can anyone recommend someone that would be able to come in at short notice and strip the paper and prep the walls for papering?

There's an easy trick to getting woodchip wallpaper off - mix up some wallpaper paste, slather it thickly over the woodchip and let it soak in for about 20-30 minutes. It'll then peel off easily.
