I wonder how long it will take and hjow "impressive" it will be.

The following may be of interest, a shopping mall in less than 11 months from inception to opening out here- and it is massive:

As I mentioned on a previous thread, I contacted Tesco's corporate customer services department at the beginning of this week to ask if they could confirm they were planning a local store - with or without a petrol station - and they replied that they have no knowledge of a store planned for this area.

I for one am not going to hold my breath until I see the Tesco sign going up!

Argos and Homebase have asked for planning permission and may be situated beside Lidls. Tescos on the other hand have not yet asked for planning permission. I think that Tesco will come too Wick and build beside CG but don't expect things to happen too soon.

The message boards have been very quiet on the subject of Tesco coming to Wick since it was announced. What are peoples opinions?

Anyone I've spoken to (all from Thurso) have said they would travel to Wick, which can only be a good thing for the town I reckon. Will Wick become a mini-Inverness??

The ground beside CG has been purchased by Tescos.

I dunno but maybe Tesco corporate customer services may be more out of the loop than they think. I'll still wait until the sign goes up before believing it tho'.

I heard that if argos and homebase got permission then Tescos were pulling out - at least in the north planned business park. what logic is in that I don't know.
Maybe they'll try for ground in the south side.

Maybe they got their metric and imperial mixed up - we all do it!

Also see there are pits dug, maybe for a percolation test? Don'y know if they would have mains water there.
