For those who may be interested:

The Clipper Round the World (http://www.clipperroundtheworld.com/) race is due to pass round the top of Scotland in the next day or so, through the Pentland Firth and down past Wick.
Old Pulteney has a boat racing, but the miserable sods aren't for stopping in Wick.

Various boats keep pinging AIS occasionally, currently by the Isle of Lewis.

We can see them off Scarfskerry right now. A surprise since we don't see many sail boats passing by.

I'm sure how fast these boats go, but what time would you expect them to go past Keiss?

A group of them just passing JOG now Kevin, so you should see some of them passing you in the next 30mins or so... :-)

Pinging AIS so you can follow them here: Shipfinder (http://shipfinder.co/?bounds=58.120954,-4.86527,59.055641,-1.113438)

They are labelled CV plus two numbers, some are named though. As donss says, leaders just coming round John O'Groats now.

Thanks for the heads up, donns and Phill, but I had to leave for work before they made a show. I would have liked to have seen them and got some photos.
I have given Mrs M a crash course on how to use my camera , (might have been a mistake)!! It will be interesting to see if she manages to get any Pictures.

Some nice Pics, Even Chance. Mrs M said she kept her eye out for them, but they must have taken a different route.

After passing Groats the yachts headed East to the finish line at Den Helder, the Netherlands. The exception was the clipper 'Old Pultney' which sailed down to pass by Wick and acknowledge its sponsors. More info and great pictures here (https://www.clipperroundtheworld.com/news)
