Its easy to have preconceived ideas about songs and there singers. I enjoyed the drama series on the TV recently, Happy Valley, staring Sarah Lancashire.
One thing that grabbed me was the title song, Troubled Town, and when I stopped the credits it was sung by Jake Bugg, a singer that I had never heard of.
Flicking through he channels for something to watch tonight I noticed he was doing a set at Glastonbury and decided to watch it. My word, what a talented young man, my preconceptions of him was a hippy type with loads of tattoos and piercings and yet he is a twenty year old, clean cut youth with incredible musical and vocal skills. If I was going to describe him to someone that had never seen him perform it would be a mixture of John Denver, Johnny Cash, and Bill Haley rolled into one.
