Remanded at Wick pending further inquiry by police

A CAITHNESS man has been accused of assault and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Colin William MacNeill, 30, made no plea or declaration when he made a brief appearance in private before Sheriff Andrew Berry at Wick, today, and was remanded in custody.
The offences are alleged to have occurred in Castletown where the accused lives, on June 12.
MacNeill is further charged, on petition, with another Castletown man, Jordan David MacDonald, 19, with threatening or abusive behaviour, in the village on Saturday. Both made no plea or declaration.
MacDonald was released on bail, pending further inquiry.
