Lovely to see some new shops opening in Thurso. Kiln Store and Carrots have fairly brightened up Traill Street. Nickel and Dime have opened opposite The factory shop and have an alladins cave of household, gardening, stationery cards and wrap, storage boxes, lamps etc., At the other end of town the old Monza shop has had a facelift and has an interesting selection of goods for sale.

Driftwood is opening today up at High Ormlie beside Geddes new shop. They have some lovely gifts and quality clothing for sale.

Maybe folks from the surrounding areas will have a day out in Thurso instead of running to Wick Tesco.

All we need now is an ASDA to make life complete.

I don't get the obsession with AsdaThey are just another big supermarket that will strangle the life out of the small shop keeper

I echo MI16's sentiments - Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, Lidl, etc. All just big supermarkets. You would be less than best pleased if an Asda opened up, and took the business away from the shops that you have mentioned.

"Hey everyone! Don't go to Tesco, the store that's shut all the shops in Wick, go to the new Asda in Thurso instead, so that all the Thurso ones shut too....."
