The days of phoning the local station for train information is long gone. for the past few years you need to phone the correct information line or look up train times and information online. The phone numbers of stations are not easy to get hold of and many are not manned.

I would think there could well be disruption for a day or two after Friday as things get back to normal. However the news bulletins are indicating there could be more strike action to come so be wary when you are booking that you might not be able to travel on a particular day.

Buses and airlines are getting very busy apparently.
