£270m pipeline will employ a workforce of 140
NORTH SEA oil and gas services company Subsea 7 has been awarded a £270m contract to build a 37 mile pipeline and associated facilities, the BBC reports today.
The work will involve the firm's sites near Wick in Caithness, Aberdeen and at Leith.
Up to 140 people will be involved in the fabrication element of the contract. The pipeline will be constructed for Premier Oil UK’s Catcher field development east of Aberdeen. Subsea starts work on the contract next year.
The company's office in Aberdeen will undertake the engineering and project management elements. Fabrication will be at its Wick and Leith facilities.
