We have been hearing a single Cuckoo(a male) for 2 seasons now. During last years Spring and early Summer at differnt sites: at the Toftingale forest, at the forest around Loch More and in Dunnet forest.
In the last 10 days we have been hearing again, a single male calling around Melvich and Portskerra area.Wonder if anyone has heard the call of a female.This is a link to a BBC sample from David Attenborough's "Tweet Of The Day" programme of a female cuckoo ,should anyone be interested in identifying the call.
