Bouquet might have been attempt to rekindle relationship
A MAN has been jailed for six months....for sending his former partner flowers.
Donald Johnston, 29, breached an interdict banning him from having any contact with Ms Jones, Wick Sheriff Court was told today. The bouquet with a hand-written card were delivered by a florist to the woman’s home in Thurso, on March 14.
Ms Jones reported the matter to the police and Johnston was arrested. David Barclay, prosecuting, said he was unaware of what the note contained, but suggested that the flowers might have been an attempt to rekindle the relationship.
Sheriff Andrew Berry observed that Johnston, of 4 Bank Court. Thurso, had breached the interdict shortly after completing an extensive but unrelated jail sentence imposed at the High Court in Glasgow and told him that he had “clearly acted in defiance of the order, the terms of which would have been made very clear to you.”
The sheriff warned Johnston, who pleaded guilty, that any further breaches would result in him facing increasingly longer periods in custody.
