Are you part of a young band? do you know of any young bands?

If so, this is a great time to check out: http://www.highlandyouthvoice.org/News/newsItem.asp?NewsID=634 (http://www.highlandyouthvoice.org/News/newsItem.asp?NewsID=634) for a quick briefing of what it's all about. You can also visit the official website at www.democrazy2007.com (http://www.democrazy2007.com)

Prizes are as follows:
1st prize: £3000
2nd prize: £1500
3rd prize: £500

All you have to do is upload your track to the site and wait for people to vote. It must be your own song and not a copy or modification of a current song of another band.

If you don't feel like writing a song, why not have a listen to some of the songs other people have uploaded and get voting for your favourite?!

A copy of the rules provided:

Rules:
1. All entrants must reside in Scotland.
2. All songs uploaded must have social/political theme or message.
3. Signed acts are welcome to participate but only unsigned acts or those who are not signed to major labels will be eligible for prizes.
4. Any swearing should be declared and given an 'explicit lyrics' caution.
5. A band artist may wish to upload more than one track but cannot win more than one prize.

The organisers of Democrazy 2007 reserve the right to refuse or remove entries that are deemed inappropriate. The decision of the organisers is final.

Don't think- Oh, I'm never going to win.

You'll never know until you try!

Songs will be available for downloading from Thursday 19th March until Thursday 19th of April.

Most popular tracks will then be put online for an STV election so everyone can get voting.

If you choose to get involved, good luck!
