Lack of corroboration says sheriff at Wick court

CHARGES of assault and threatening behaviour against Wick man John Gunn have been found not proven.
Gunn ,64, was alleged to have come out of his vehicle and brandished a pipe at a father and his daughter who were on their way home on July 20th last year, in Harrowhill, Wick. There was said to have been ill feeling between the two families, at Wick Sheriff Court today.
However, after a short trial during which the defence did not lead evidence, Sheriff Andrew Berry said there had been a lack of corroboration.
Gunn, of Upper Dunbar Street, Wick, was formally found not guilty of a third charge of possessing an offensive weapon, the pipe, after fiscal David Barclay stated he was no longer seeking a conviction on that count.
