I was lucky enough to get out all night ... made a short edit here in the Bettyhill, Skerray, and Tongue area:

Brilliant timelapses Gordon, i think i'm going to have to invest in an intervalometer!

I managed to get some good stills taken around the Castletown area.

Your photos are fantastic! Loving the compositions.

You should ... time lapsing can be very satisfying when it works out ... it can also be the opposite when starting out ha! What camera do you use? you can pick up 'ebay' intervalometers for £15-£20 - they do the same trick as the camera manufacture ones, but quarter the price.

Fantastic!! All I saw in Brora was light pollution. I guess one needs a camera that takes time lapse?

Camera sees more than human eye but if you went to dark location away from the streetlight you could see it clearly together with dancing rays. This aurora was really strong and I've been able to see even red color with the naked eye for the first time. Light pollution is washing any visible detail, so next time just head out of town and its lights.

Shots are breathtaking. It is a pity that the aurora borealis can't be seen outside the Arctic Circle.
