First Tick of the Year?

My dog had a tick today. I have never seen a tick so early.

Being so mild this year has helped them survive. one of my dogs had a tick a few years ago very early January.

Not been a cold enough winter to kill the little bloodsuckers off, there has hardly been a frost that has lasted a day at most this winter..wet n mild ..tick growing weather!
Harsh winters = less of the bloodsuckers.
Mild winter = more of them..and seeing them earlier on.
Wish for days of snow and freezing nights and see the numbers drop!
