I made Greek food for the first time last night. Don't know what took me so long to get round to it as my partner's half Greek.

This is so easy to make it's unbelievable. Here's hoping they sell Orzo in the Wick Tsco (we get it in Dingwall...)

To serve 6:
4 lamb leg steaks
salt and pepper
2 garlic cloves, sliced
2/3 cup water
1(14oz) can chopped tomatoes
1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon chopped fresh marjoram
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
1-1/4 cups boiling water
10 ounces orzo (rice shaped pasta)
salad leaves to serve

Preheat the oven to 400F (205C). Season meat with salt and pepper. Place in large roasting pan.

Scatter garlic over meat. Add the 2/3 cup of water, tomatoes, olive oil, marjoram and parsley. Cook 40 mins, basting occasionally and turning lamb over.

Add the 1-1/4 cups boiling water and the pasta. Stir in more salt and pepper. Cook about 40 mins or until pasta is cooked. If necessary add more hot water. Serve with salad greens.

Not only did I enjoy it, but apparently (according to Mr) is tasted just like when his grandmother in Greece makes it.
