Three share over £1,000,000 package
THREE harbours in Caithness have benefitted to the total sum of more than £1,000,000 in a package of aid awarded under the European Fisheries Fund and the fisheries harbours grant scheme.
Lybster will receive £609,244, Wick £407,000 and Gills Bay £25,000 to help with repairs to the ports which suffered severe damage in storms last year described as the worst in decades. The Euro grant assistance is part of a Scottish grants package totalling £3m.
Further funding has been held back to deal with new requests over the winter months.
