Went to my dentist's reception today to book an appointment only to be told that as of the first of april the dentist will be private, so what do I do now save all my money and pay for treatment or save all my money and travel to the next available NHS dentist.

I phoned loads of dentists trying to get an NHS one, and they all said the same - you have to register through the NHS dental helpline. They told me the waiting list for Caithness and Helmsdale was 2 years and the waiting list for Inverness was 18 months - it's an absolutely nightmare, although the majority of them are willing to take on kids as NHS.

I am now registered privately in Inverness!
