Alleged to have punched six-year-old

A THURSO man, is alleged to have repeatedly punched a six-year-old’s head and striking it against a door at her home in the town.
The accused, who can’t be named for legal reasons, denied the assault and behaving in threatening or abusive manner towards the girl, on Saturday, when he appeared from custody at Wick Sheriff Court today.
The 26-year-old was granted conditional bail and made subject to a 7pm-7am curfew pending his trial on March 18.


Accused of threatening or abusive behaviour

A 24-year-old man is to stand trial after an incident in which he is alleged to have, in a Thurso shop, ordered his partner to take off her jacket and trousers he maintained belonged to him.
Francis McPhee, is accused of threatening or abusive behaviour and shouting at staff a chemist’s shop in Thurso to withhold her prescription. McPhee, of 6 Macpherson Walk, Thurso, pleaded not guilty to the incidents.
The accused was remanded in custody pending his trial on December 13.
