Disorderly conduct silences singer in county's licensed premises

A MAN triggered a double whammy when he caused a disturbance at a Wick pub.
As a result, Richard Davidson, 36, was banned from every pub in Caithness by the county’s Pub Watch board and was today fined £100 for the disorderly behaviour at The Camps.
Wick Justice of the Peace Court heard that the incident, on April 16, occurred during a pool tournament at the pub. Police were called in after an argument escalated, with Davidson, of the town’s Hill Avenue, becoming involved in a fight with another patron.
Solicitor Sylvia MacLennan explained that the trouble stemmed from some of the other customers taking exception to the fact that the accused was talking to a woman.
She added that the pub ban would hit Davidson hard as he was a singer who performed in various licensed locations in the county where he enjoyed socialising.
She added that prior to the offence, the accused who pleaded guilty, had managed to stay out of trouble for a year.
