Girl lied to mother about overnight stay with a friend
A TEENAGER has admitted having had sex with an underage girl.
It happened at a house in Wick after Connor Thomson, 18, resumed his friendship with the 13-year-old, Wick Sheriff Court was told today.
She and another girl told their parents that they were staying overnight with a friend, in Thurso. Instead, the pair travelled by bus to Wick on August 15, and stayed with Thomson at a different address from his own one.
Next day, the 13-year old's mother discovered that her daughter had lied to her and that she had stayed at a different address than she had given, and the police became involved. Initially thought they were dealing with a missing person but then discovered this was not the case, after the girl arrived home and told what had happened.
David Barclay, prosecuting, said that Thomson, of 14 Macleod Road, Wick, was subsequently interviewed and after some reluctance confirmed to officers what had happened. It emerged that other people in the house went to bed leaving the accused and the girl in the living room where they had consensual sex on the couch.
Sentence was deferred for a report until December 13 when solicitor Neil Wilson will speak on the accused’s behalf.
