I have a MacBook Air which refuses to start up (out of warranty). Anyone have any idea of what the problem may be or how and where to go to get it repaired?

just because something is out side of warranty
does mean there is no recourse

warranty is extra on top of your statutory rights under the sale of goods act
from the retailer you purchased it from.

is there NO sign of life , no lights no nothing?
if so then give the retailer a ring

how old is it?

Thank you. I was aware of that and had already been in touch with Apple. Still looking for help with this. Anyone had someone in Caithness repair an Apple Mac or can recommend someone?

Hi RJM,

The closest Apple repairs that I'm aware of are Stormfront (http://www.stormfront.co.uk/) in Inverness. Unfortunately I don't do anything with Apple here, sorry.
I know it's not ideal, but hopefully it'll be of some use to you.
