Does anyone have poor TV reception tonight?

I had a look at the Transmitter Info webpage and it says that BBC1 and 2 are on reduced power but all my channels are affected and Channel 4 is really bad. :~(

Hah - reduced power?
You're lucky you haven't had this happen to your transmitter -

This happened last year and we have had reduced power on our radio stations since. Very frustrating as recording certain shows can be a hit and miss affair. Pre-fire I used to get a signal strength of between 40 and 50db (according to my tuner) and post-fire I have struggled with 15-18db. There is a constant hiss in the background which is bearable if I have recorded a music show but for anything with just speech it is very tiresome.

I brought back a gadget from the US to allow me to record radio broadcasts straight to my iBook and save them as MP3 files for playing on my iPod, instead of the old method of C90 tapes. The 'Griffin radioSHARK' is known to perform best with a strong signal and so trying to get a hiss-free station means I have to have the darn thing balanced in just the right place. I look forward to the day when we have a new mast up and running!!!!
