I have John DOB 1795 and married to Eliza in 1819 in Latheron.
John DOD 1842 in Wick.
Eliza DOD 1868 Wick
A Son Donald born in 1831 who married Christian Milne (d/o Alexander & Grace Milne )
Would appreciate any info ...

Hi Sarah

Agree with dates of birth for John and Eliza, and also Eliza's death date (I have copy death certificate) but John seems to have outlived her and was still living in 1871 census, although I don't have a death date for him as yet. I have found 9 children born to John and Eliza. including the Donald you mention.

Quick search of Scotland's People found John Nicol's death 12 Jul 1881 at Wick. Registered by son in law Robert Gunn, so there's another clue.....

Thank you so much for your reply ...sorry I haven'y been on here for a little while & have only been looking at this side of the family as we are coming to Scotland in May this year.:):) I finally found my Donald's resting place here in Brisbane !!!His daughter Marion Eliza Nicoll/ Barrow was my great grand mother and her son Cyril Barrow was my grandfather, born in New Zealand.
