can anyone point me in the right direction for info about being in the wick gala parade?

The Wick Gala is run by the Wick Town Improvements Association -

Contact them and they will let you know what to do.

Collecting tins etc are usually handed out on the Friday evening before the Gala parade on Saturday. All tins are numbered and given out to named people in order that the competition winners can be found for who has collected the most money and so on as well as security.

Everyone involved in the parade is collecting money for the Association who then use the oney in one way or another to help local groups or mainly to do something for the town. For example a couple of years ago they got the fountain working again and improved the area around it.
