It is our wedding anniversary tommorow and we are looking for a damn good resturant that does fine meals....We have been to the portland Arms lybster, smiddy inn, and we would like to go somewhere out of wick...Maybe you can come up with a good suggestion, by tomorrow afternoon.....We do not want to have to book a table, looking for one that we can just walk into.........Must have a romantic atmosphere....Cheers Thanks in advance.....

The Schoolhouse at John O' Groats - very good food indeed.

Have to agree, the Old Schoolhouse is the best out of town restaurant around at the moment. From a purely selfish point of view I hope it wont become too well patronised so I can't get a table when I want!!

For a Sunday lunch I would also recommend the carvery at the Northern Sands. The decor is a bit dated but the food is good.

I haven't been there in years but the food at The Northern Sands used to be wonderful. I dream about their "steak casanova".
