Break-up talks ran into trouble sheriff told

WICK Sheriff Court heard how an attempt to finalise the break-up of a relationship at a Caithness home called Grudge House ran into trouble.
Offshore worker, Liam Sinclair, 41, shouted and swore at his ex partner and behaved in a threatening or abusive manner.
The court was told that the short-term relationship had broken down and they had arranged a meeting at Grudge House, Tannach, on April 18, to "tie up some loose ends" as David Barclay, prosecuting put it, among them, some money the ex partner was said to owe to Sinclair.
The senior fiscal depute said that the issue "spilled over into an argument" during which Sinclair, of Moray View Terrace, Lybster, behaved in a disorderly fashion.
The accused pleaded guilty and sentence was deferred to allow him to demonstrate he can behave himself. It was stated that the split in the relationship was final and there was no question of a reconcilliation.
Sheriff Andrew Berry said that the good behaviour bond would provide an opportunity to test the assurance given that "peace had broken out" at the "ironically named" Grudge House.
Sinclair is currently subject to a non-harrassment order.
