Remanded after brief appearance before sheriff
A WICK man is facing a group of charges including rape. Gary David Thomson made no plea or declaration during a brief appearance in private before Sheriff Andrew Berry at Wick today.
In addition to the rape charge, Thomson is accused of assault and indecent assault.
The allegations stretch back as far as 1996 and are said to have been committed in Caithness and Shetland.
Thomson, who is 41, was remanded in custody and will make a further appearance in a week's time.
