Over £100 raised at Caithness agricultural event

Highlands and Islands (Labour) MSP Rhoda Grant has raised over £100 at the Caithness County Show over the two day event.Mrs Grant was raising money for local charity 'HomeAid Caithness' which provides furniture and emergency packages to those in need in Caithness her stall at the show on Friday and Saturday.
Mrs Grant said
"It is a horrendous indictment on our society that we are having to raise funds to help feed families in the Far North of Scotland and around the U.K.
"We raised £103 over the weekend which will go directly to Caithness HomeAid in order to buy food parcels for people."
"I want to thank everyone who took part and helped raise these valuable funds for an essential local charity"
"I would urge those who can afford it to give what they can to help continue this vital service as increasingly more and more people across the county need to access energy food packages"
The food bank, which is being run by HomeAid Caithness and Sutherland in conjunction with Blythswood Care, will provide food parcels for those in need.
Raffle prizes were donated by Rhoda Grant MSP, Thurso Cllr Roger Saxon, and The Cooperative, Wick through local Wick Councillor Neil MacDonald.
Mrs Grant held and open surgery at the show to talk with constituents, raise money for Caithness HomeAid as well as talking to people about the Better Together and Save Our Royal Mail campaign
